Whispers Take Flight (finally taking flight!)

Back in March, we planned to launch Whispers Take Flight — a community art installation where origami birds become carriers of intention, dream, and hope. Snowstorms kept it grounded, but throughout the spring many of you still mailed or dropped off birds.

Now, the flock is ready to come alive. With the help of sweet community friends, we now have hundreds of beautifully folded birds waiting for you. All you need to do is write your whisper or wish on the wings, and we’ll hang them throughout the weekend, adding your voice to the growing sky of whispers.

Where Whispers Take Flight | Community Installation

A tapestry of delicate paper birds, each one carries a whisper-a personal reflection, a wish, or a thought that takes flight into the world.

Throughout the month of September and October, visitors are encouraged to contribute their own creations or write on pre-folded origami birds, adding to the ever-growing collection of origami birds suspended from the gallery ceiling. With each new addition, the installation grows, a collective expression of shared humanity, resilience, and possibility.

This exhibit celebrates the power of community and the profound impact of small acts of creativity. It’s an invitation to release our voices into the world, to inspire others, and to recognize that even the smallest whispers, carried by the wings of our dreams, can shape a brighter future.
