This workshop is a printmaking workshop primarily, learning to block print on fabric, each participant will create a beautiful string of prayer flags, created with the intention of love & peace for all beings in your outdoor space. Each participant will be encouraged to create their own symbol for that with the instruction and guidance from Jill Sans.

Through color and texture, this collection speaks the universal language of creation, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the rich hues and intricate narratives woven throughout.
We will be creating our own design onto our linoleum block, from there we will spend time hand carving and then printing on fabric. You will have time to print multiple prints, learning the techniques of printing from linoleum blocks. You will go home with finished printed pieces of fabric as well as your hand carved linoleum block to use again at home.
Come learn the basics of block printing by designing and carving your own linoleum block. You will learn to create your own design, carve your own linoleum block and print onto paper. You will walk away with understanding of possible applications for block printing.
Art of the People Gallery Art Show showcases art from members of the collective including Jerrel Singer, Nate Begay, Janet Yazzie, Billy Whitethorne, Randall Wilson and Stephanie Dann in honor of Baje Whitethorne, Sr. at The HeArt Box Gallery. Art of the People, founded by Baje, fosters artistic excellence by activating, preserving and invigorating Native American culture through various forms of art and encouraging the next generation of Indigenous artists.
The HeArt Box will be opening up Saturday, February 24th for a studio sale hosted by Jill Sans. Jill creates artwork in a range of styles form mandalas to botanical ink abstract paintings.
Check out sales on past work and get a look at some of her new work. Studio will be open from 11am - 4pm, tea and snacks available so come by for a visit.
It’s holiday season, let’s create a little cheer with paper ornaments. We will explore shapes and create 3D paper ornaments. There will be room for creativity with coloring using markers, stamps, glitter, tassels, poms and more to create fun holiday ornaments. Students must be able to cut out their own shapes with scissors.

Come relax at the end of your day and paint a mandala. Mandalas are a tool used often in art therapy as a way to focus the mind, bring attention to the present moment. The act of creating allows for us a space of relaxation and allowance, getting into the creative flow. Calming herbal tea provided.

Tanner will be showcasing his assortment of creations from wood bowls, vases and kitchen utensils to incredible handcrafted wood furniture. Tanner will be in the gallery, December 9th from 12-5pm, a one day only event.

A 5 day art immersion for ages 12 - 17 in a working art studio/gallery instructed by artist, Jill Sans. We will dive into mixed media including ink making, painting, block printing and collage. Each day a new medium will be introduced with time to interact with paint, ink and more all leading up to time to make your own personal piece of art using all the different forms of art.
Is there something you are working towards, wanting to bring more into your life with awareness? Come make a block of intention, learn what setting intention is and then placing that attention towards this goal. We will make a block of intention, choose a wood block and create with your own internal guidance a reminder. We will paint, draw and create, you will go home with something for your intentional space.

Botanical Ink Making Workshop with Jill Sans
We will learn to create botanical inks from materials readily available at home. Make your own ink to create with, this workshop will provide introduction knowledge to build upon.

Make your own bowl with ceramic artist, Gabby Long. All supplies included. Each participant will walk away with two handmade bowls that they decorated! This workshop will be taught in the sgraffito ceramic technique.

Have you ever wondered what elements make up the colors you use to create? Too often, modern humans are disconnected from the materials we interact with on a daily basis. This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about the origins of paint and pigments and take you through the process of handcrafting them from start to finish.
In collaboration with the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival, Creative Flagstaff, Downtown Business Alliance, and the Northern Arizona Association of Realtors Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion committee, finalists from the Through My Eyes contest will have an opportunity to display their artwork at The HeArt Box throughout festival weekend!
