A four-part workshop series honoring migration, memory, and mystery in the high desert of Northern Arizona

As autumn deepens and the veil grows thin, winged travelers move through Arizona’s skies—monarchs, moths, and butterflies carrying stories of migration, resilience, and transformation. In this intimate series, we gather in small circles of four to reflect, paint, and write on 8x8 wood panels, exploring what these insects teach us about passage, thresholds, and belonging.

Each session blends grounding, storytelling, art-making, and poetry. No prior experience is needed—only openness to the journey. Together, we will create a migration of images and words, honoring both the creatures who travel through Arizona and the journeys we ourselves undertake.

The Journey Through Four Workshops

  • Monarch – The Pilgrim of Memory | October 26th
We begin with the monarch, honoring ancestors and the long fragile journeys that connect us across time.

  • Sphinx Moth – The Night Traveler | November 2nd
We move into mystery, exploring unseen paths, intuition, and the courage to cross thresholds in the dark.

  • Black Witch Moth – The Spirit Messenger | November 9th
We enter the heart of transition, meeting change and endings as portals into new ways of being.

  • Painted Lady – The Wanderer | November 16th
We emerge with adaptability and trust, embracing the unpredictable beauty of life’s unfolding.
